Maybe this won’t be as funny to some of you as it is to me, but I feel compelled to share.

Ice Breakers are not Christian mints (or if they are, they don’t understand the most basic concepts of Christianity). See for yourself.

Did you notice how the opening labeled “to share” is nearly 2/3 smaller than the opening labeled “not to share.” If I am to believe that this isn’t just a weird labeling goof on the part of the company, then I am to believe that they really expect you to be very stingy with your mints.

I think there’s a decent correlation to society here dealing with a “my needs first” generation which cares less and less about others.

But I choose to believe that we are meant for more (do you get the pun in the title now?). One of my favorite Bible verses comes from Philippians 2:3, which says (New Living Translation), “Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.”

We were meant for more. We are meant for more.

And if you’ve wondered where I’ve been the past couple of weeks, I’ll tell you what I saw. I saw 75 people who get it…who know they were meant for more…who gave up a week of their summer to go and better the lives of folks they had never previously met. It was amazing, and I think my mints need a new label, because the junior high mission camp I attended taught me that I am meant for more.

They just put the label on wrong.

I thought that too…in fact Cat and I had a discussion about it when I went to visit her (sort of) week before last.

However, they would have had to do an entire batch of labels incorrectly (more like thousands of batches) for me to have gotten the last five packages of mine exactly alike. Also, the label is sort of pre-cut on the “to share” side to allow for ease of use (and to prevent weird sticky goo on the part of the container your hand touches)…and possibly other reasons that I don’t have time to discuss.

So these labels are cut incorrectly, and then because of that they are then placed on the container wherever the pre-cut side fits the small hole.

      This leaves me perplexed.

Is it really a goof? Or is it multiple goofs which the company is trying to cover? Or is it a subliminal message about society?

      Discuss.

LOL. You crack me up. I’m sure that one batch was screwed up and it’s not some message for society. Or, perhaps, the labels are not incorrect at all and the larger hole is for yourself. That way only your germs are touching all those mints. Therefore, the smaller side would be to shake mints into the hands of your friends. Just a thought.

Hey I was at the factory where these are made last week! Hersey, PA. I did not ask about the container, but I did eat an obscene about of chocolate.

I don’t really think it has anything to do with Christianity, and does it really matter if they are religious or not? It’s meant as a joke, and it’s actually very funny.
